TrekkSoft

Baarerstrasse 52, Zug, 6300, Switzerland

Overview

TrekkSoft builds web‑based booking and management software for tour and activity operators, focusing on enabling suppliers rather than consumer marketplaces. The company emphasizes real‑time live inventory and is developing a distribution API to connect partners to that inventory. In 2014 TrekkSoft launched a mobile app and added features such as a resource manager, expanded CMS, tax management, and customizable booking flows. The company reports a real‑time inventory of over 10,000 tours worldwide and says it has helped suppliers process bookings for more than 1.5 million activities since founding. TrekkSoft closed 2014 with low double‑digit million in transaction volume and an increase in net income of 100% over 2013. Its stated 2015 focus is convincing suppliers to adopt modern web‑based systems and rolling out the game‑changing API for distribution partners. TrekkSoft offers a B2B SaaS platform that enables tour and activity providers to promote, manage, and sell tours online, offline and on mobile. The platform supports real-time online bookings of live inventory, price and capacity management, an integrated payment gateway, tour management software, and a CMS with promotional tools including social media integration and agent tracking. TrekkSoft is free at sign-up and charges 6% plus $0.50 per online booking (covering credit card and PSP fees); offline reservations where payment isn’t processed via TrekkSoft are free. Since launching in 2010, the company says it has processed over 850,000 bookings and grown live inventory to more than 4,800 tours across 115 countries. TrekkSoft has partnered with TripAdvisor to collect reviews and help drive sales, and competes with players such as Xola, Rezgo, TourCMS, and Bookeo. The company recently raised additional funding, reflecting continued investor support for its B2B approach to a fragmented tours and activities market. TrekkSoft AG, headquartered in Matten b. Interlaken, offers a cloud-based online booking solution for tour operators and activities providers. The platform is free to use at a basic level and generates revenue via transaction-based fees. After a revamped sign-up process in May, roughly 300 tour operators and activity providers have registered. The company plans to massively expand its "TrekkSoft Gateway" and, according to CFO Philippe Willi, will launch a worldwide payment solution for tour operators and activity providers in October 2012. A recently hired marketing manager will run the global marketing roll-out from New York City targeting an estimated 250,000 operators worldwide. TrekkSoft is fully founder-financed and has recently completed a share capital increase to fund further marketing efforts; it was also selected to present at the PhoCusWright Travel Innovation Summit in Scottsdale, Arizona.
