Overview
Treos Bio uses computational data science and proprietary biomarkers to develop precision off-the-shelf and personalized peptide cancer immunotherapies. Its lead product is PolyPEPI-1018, an off-the-shelf polypeptide immunotherapy for microsatellite stable metastatic colorectal cancer (MSS mCRC), now entering Phase II trials. An earlier Phase I/II study showed PolyPEPI-1018 induced robust antigen-specific T cell responses and durable anti-tumor responses. Proceeds from the financing will fund two upcoming clinical trials assessing PolyPEPI-1018 as an add-on to first-line maintenance therapy and as third-line treatment in MSS mCRC. Treos has completed preclinical development of off-the-shelf PolyPEPI immunotherapies in ovarian, breast, bladder, gastric and lung cancers and melanoma, and is also developing an investigational COVID-19 peptide vaccine, PolyPEPI-SCoV-2. The company launched in February 2017 and previously raised $28 million in a Series A led by shareholders of BXR Group. Treos Bio develops precision cancer immunotherapies paired to companion diagnostics, including its PolyPEPI™ Immunotherapy Cancer Vaccine for colorectal cancer. The company has completed preclinical development of therapeutic vaccines targeting melanoma, lung cancer, breast cancer, glioblastoma, colorectal cancer and leukemia. It uses companion diagnostics to identify patients likely to respond and plans to treat those identified responders. Treos intends to use the new funding to support an early-stage human clinical trial of the PolyPEPI vaccine in colorectal cancer. Based on discussions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the company expected to begin a first-in-man trial in 2017. The company is led by Executive Chairman Dr. Menghis Bairu and Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder Dr. Julianna Lisziewicz. Treos Bio is based in London, UK and Bethesda, MD.
