TRI Pointe Homes builds single-family home communities and is currently active in Irvine, Chula Vista, Riverside and Oceanside, California. The company entered into a strategic financing agreement to receive $150M in growth equity capital from an affiliate of Starwood Capital Group Global, LP. TRI Pointe will use the proceeds to expand its homebuilding operations in California and across the Western Region. Management intends to seek market opportunities within an expanded geographic footprint and to build a profitable platform. The company has a target to deliver more than 1,000 homes a year within the next five years. TRI Pointe was established in 2009 by Doug Bauer, Thomas Mitchell and Michael Grubbs.
