Overview
TriLumina develops solid-state LiDAR illumination modules for automotive ADAS and autonomous driving applications. Its illumination modules are designed to accelerate the development of low-cost LiDAR sensor systems that enable enhanced safety and future autonomous vehicle platforms. The modules aim to replace scanning LiDARs used in demonstration programs with high-resolution, long-range sensing in a compact package to support commercial deployment of semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles. TriLumina has progressed from initial technology development to sampling its proven modules to major Tier 1 automotive industry players. Led by CEO Brian Wong and based in Albuquerque, NM, the company plans to use recent financing to accelerate development and broader deployment of its compact LiDAR illumination modules. The company closed an additional $9M in equity and debt financing to support these efforts. TriLumina develops, manufactures and integrates semiconductor laser solutions that enable 100% solid-state, high-resolution LiDAR for 3D sensing around vehicles. The company targets applications in ADAS, connected cars, gesture control, and depth sensing for industrial robotics and consumer electronics. Led by President Kirk Otis and based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, TriLumina focuses on smart illumination technology for automotive and consumer products, including driver monitoring. TriLumina closed an $8.5M Series A to support its commercialization efforts. The company intends to use the funds to support active and future customer integration projects, ramp revenue, and accelerate development and commercialization of its smart illumination technology. Stage 1 Ventures’ Managing Director David Baum will join TriLumina’s board as part of the financing.
