tripAbrood is a travel tech startup building an AI-driven, personalised family travel discovery and booking platform whose assistant is called “Skye.” The product combines travel data insights, machine learning and industry knowledge to recommend and narrow options tailored to users while offering market-leading rates. The company says Skye cuts average search-to-booking time from ~30 hours to about 10 minutes. Founded in 2019 and beta-launched in September 2020 across five European destinations, tripAbrood reports a 10% conversion rate in its initial live release (versus an industry average of 3–5%) and a 700% increase in its mailing list from September 2020 to April 2021. The founders are Alexa-Maria Rathbone Barker (formerly European Head of Analytics, Bloomberg) and Ketan Anand (formerly Engineering Lead, Lloyds Banking Group). The business has raised roughly £1M to date and will use the new capital to launch and scale its global product in the UK market.
