Overview
TriPlay is a New York and Israel-based personal cloud company that has developed MyMusicCloud and MyDigipack. Those cloud applications provide users with free unlimited storage and access to their music, photos and videos on any device, operating system, file format and network. On July 4, 2015 the company secured $11m in funding. Backers included funds managed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group LLC as well as existing investors Kenges Rakishev and founder and CEO Tamir Koch. TriPlay intends to use the funds to expand its marketing efforts, accelerate research and development and grow its existing user base. TriPlay develops cloud services that let people consume, sync and share music and other media across multiple devices. Its flagship product, MyMusicCloud, offers streaming and music-synchronization, integrates Dropbox and Google Drive, and includes a catalog of 11 million songs, lyrics and ringtones. MyMusicCloud supports 23 languages and has seen particularly strong uptake on BlackBerry and Android; it was a featured app on RIM’s App World and is preloaded on some Toshiba tablets and PCs. The company reports hundreds of thousands of direct users and, through partners like Pelephone Musix and Conduit SendSMS, reaches up to 11.8 million users. TriPlay also offers MyDigipack, a photo storing and sharing service currently in beta. The company says it will pursue more local partnerships as part of its growth and plans to hire additional staff including a chief marketing officer.
