Overview
Tripleseat provides end-to-end event management software with embedded payments, covering lead generation, booking, planning, event execution workflows, reporting, and analytics for restaurants, hotels, and other venues. Its platform is used by more than 15,000 venues each day and has helped venues book over 10 million events and capture $15 billion in event leads. Tripleseat aims to simplify the event management process to improve customer experience and help clients grow their events businesses. The company accelerated its competitive positioning through a 2020 merger with Gather Technologies. Looking ahead, Tripleseat plans to expand market reach, further invest in product and technology, pursue strategic M&A, and scale into additional markets. The business recently announced a strategic growth investment from General Atlantic while existing shareholders Vista Equity Partners, Level Equity, and Enlightened Hospitality Investments remain minority investors. Tripleseat provides a sales and event management application used by event managers at restaurants, hotels and unique venues. Led by Jonathan Morse, a former Event Sales Manager, the product helps increase sales and streamline the event planning process. Founded in 2008 and based in Concord, Massachusetts, the company had been bootstrapped since inception. As of the end of May 2017 Tripleseat served more than 3,000 venues and 35,000 users worldwide, from small mom-and-pop operations to large corporate enterprises. The company said the new capital will support product enhancements and expansion of customer support and sales. Tripleseat offers a software-as-a-service platform focused on booking and organizing private events rather than one-off restaurant reservations. Its customers include restaurants, large hotel chains, bowling alleys and even boats. The company manages about $140 million in event revenues for roughly 100 customers and charges clients between $100 and $300 per month. Tripleseat has been built since 2008 by founder Jonathan Morse and a small team, and until this round it was entirely bootstrapped. Headquartered in Boston, the company has relied on Omaha-based partners for web development and now for funding. The founder favors organic, measured growth over raising large sums to rapidly build a big salesforce.
