Trooly
300 Third Street Suites 2 and 11, Los Altos, CA, 94022, United States
Overview
Trooly applies machine learning to public and dark-web digital footprints to produce a 30-second scorecard that verifies identity, screens prior behavior, and predicts future antisocial or pro-social behavior. Its platform links partial and messy public records, runs confidence scores, and distinguishes between major/minor and recent/non-recent offenses. The service returns an assessment in roughly two-thirds of requests, reports a "virtually zero" probability of failed background checks in about half of cases, and sees negative hits in about 8% of checks. Trooly has built dark-web crawlers, in-house indexes of offender registers, and licenses public-record datasets for its North American markets. Customers are in the single digits and production service has been live since August of last year; it is working with one major sharing-economy customer and is piloting with financial-services firms. The company is targeting broader financial-services use cases (KYC, AML, thin-file lending) and plans product development and scaling informed by those pilots.
