Overview
Trophi.ai develops AI-based coaching software that analyzes gameplay in racing simulators such as Assetto Corsa Competizione and F1 2023 to give players feedback on how to improve. The company was co-founded by technology veteran Mike Winter and former race car driver Scott Mansell and is based in St. John’s. Trophi.ai says its AI could be adapted to provide similar feedback in real-world applications using video footage and other data, for example for professional athletes. In May the company closed a $3.3 million seed round led by Halifax venture capital fund Build Ventures. Separately it received $200,000 from NRC-IRAP and $548,000 from the Newfoundland and Labrador government to help de-risk commercialization efforts. At the time of the seed raise the company had six employees and said the money would enable it to hire 10 to 15 more.
