Tropical Smoothie Café is a franchised quick-casual restaurant chain with more than 270 restaurants in 34 states. The company operates via franchise development of quick-casual dining locations. It received a $4.4M growth capital investment from BIP Opportunities Fund. The capital is designated to accelerate franchise development and to fund new technologies, personnel and operational infrastructure. CEO Eric Jenrich said BIP brings experience, contacts and capital, and that with their counsel the company has defined a growth strategy. Management intends to put in place the right people and infrastructure to substantially expand the Tropical Smoothie Café brand.
