TrueVault is a healthcare app data security startup that launched out of the most recent Y Combinator class. It offers a database-as-a-service providing a secure API for healthcare apps to store sensitive patient data and comply with HIPAA privacy rules. The company charges $0.001 per API call and currently has over 300 customers. TrueVault says it will use the seed funding to further develop its service. Co-founder Trey Swann said much of the fundraising was completed at YC Demo Day using the accelerator’s handshake deal protocol. The product positions TrueVault as infrastructure for regulated health‑tech developers that need turnkey data-security and compliance tooling.
