TrustPoint is developing a next-generation, fully commercial Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) service. Its technology targets better accuracy, quicker time to first fix, and anti-spoof and anti-jam protections. The company positions its service to support U.S. government position and timing resiliency while enabling commercial applications such as drone delivery, self-driving cars, urban air mobility, and augmented reality. TrustPoint operates in Silicon Valley and Northern Virginia and announced the funding from Mountain View, Calif. The company will use the seed funding to grow its engineering team, mature core technologies, and advance key partnerships. CEO and co-founder Patrick Shannon described the effort as a logical next step in NewSpace and an enabler for nascent autonomous navigation applications.
