TRX Systems is the developer of NEON, an award‑winning personnel tracking system that provides location-based data indoors and in urban areas where GPS is unreliable. NEON uses TRX sensor fusion and mapping to correlate data from a broad array of sensors, including magnetic, ranging, inertial, light, pressure, RF and GPS, and combines that with known and discovered map information. The technology is designed to deliver robust 3D indoor location without relying on pre-existing networked infrastructure or comprehensive floor plans. TRX says its system improves situational awareness and command effectiveness for mission‑critical users operating in hazardous or GPS‑denied environments. The company plans to increase investments in indoor location development and accelerate entry into new markets, with this funding complemented by its sales revenues. TRX Systems is a Greenbelt, Maryland-based developer of infrastructure-free indoor tracking products. The company makes software and hardware that locate, map and track people indoors and in areas where GPS is not reliable. It is led by President and CEO Carol Politi. TRX said it will use the new funding to make additional investments in product development and sales. The announced funding totals more than $650k and includes investments from New Dominion Angels and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development via the Maryland Venture Fund.
