Tulipop builds a character-goods brand based on the magical Tulipop island and its inhabitants, offering an award-winning range of gift items for children and fans. The company has also produced a popular app and a story book set in the Tulipop world. Tulipop entered licensed merchandise in 2015 via a deal with U.S. toy maker Toynami. The brand sells products to about 120 stores across 14 countries and aims to grow its international presence. Founded in 2010 and based in Reykjavík, the company is run by co-founder Helga Arnadottir (CEO) and illustrator Signý Kolbeinsdóttir. Recent financing will be used to accelerate growth, expand into more markets, and develop new storytelling projects.
