Tutum is a New York City–based developer of a cloud platform for Docker. Its platform lets users manage and run portable, self-sufficient containers from any application, so the same container built and tested on a laptop can run at scale on Tutum. The solution offers features of both IaaS and PaaS while aiming to avoid their shortcomings. Tutum supports the open-source Docker containerization project and participated in the Techstars NYC ’14 class. The company has a dedicated team of seven and plans to use the new funding to grow its development team. It closed a $2.65M seed round led by RTP Ventures with participation from Azure Capital Partners and angel investors.
