Tweekaboo
Unit 7 South Ring Business Park Kinsale Road, Cork, Ireland
Overview
Tweekaboo is a private, family-focused social app for sharing photos and life moments with only immediate family and a handful of trusted friends. Core features include manual tagging of children, sorting photos into events and albums, and the ability to add friends to albums and view invited friends’ accounts. Accounts are designed to be completely private; the average network size on Tweekaboo is less than ten, positioning it as a privacy-first alternative to broadcast-oriented platforms like Facebook. Founder Eugene Murphy built the app after bootstrapping it and emphasizes simplicity and family-focused networks. Murphy intends to offer a photobook printing service to let parents create and sell books of their children, which he sees as a viral monetization opportunity. Tweekaboo offers an iOS app and a web version today, with versions for other mobile platforms (including Windows Phone) forthcoming, and the service is seeing notable interest in Asia, particularly China.
