tweetTV provides a real-time social TV guide that groups and enhances TV-based conversations happening on Twitter. The service updates every minute to show current TV watching trends and displays localized channel numbers for the user’s TV provider. A real-time search feature enables users to find what is happening among currently airing programs by any combination of genres and networks. Cloud-based, embeddable "tweet rooms" curate Twitter conversations and add enhancements such as filters, editorial content, fan polls, and multi-user video chats. Founded in 2009 and based in Austin, Texas, the company was among the first participants in the Wahooly social startup accelerator. The startup plans to use new funding to develop and release mobile applications, hire staff, enhance its proprietary algorithms, and launch partner and social rewards programs. It recently raised $750K from an angel investor to support those initiatives.
