Overview

Tykoon is a social, personalized financial-services platform for families that lets children earn, save, give and spend real money. Parents can implement money management via chores, jobs, allowance, spending and giving while kids earn through jobs, chores, and gifts and save toward goals. Spending uses a kid-safe environment powered by Amazon.com, and the platform also enables charitable giving. Tykoon is currently in private beta and plans to be available to the public later this Fall. The company raised $1.35M in funding from a group of investors. It was co-founded by Doug Lebda and Mark Bruinooge; Lebda founded LendingTree and is CEO and Chairman of Tree.com, and Bruinooge previously served as an executive at Bank of America.
