Uber Freight

1455 Market Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, California, 94103, United States

Overview

Uber Freight operates a technology-driven logistics platform that helps truck drivers connect with shipping companies and offers enterprise software products like Uber Freight Enterprise and Uber Freight Link. Launched in 2017 and spun off as a separate business unit in August 2018, the company has redesigned its app with improved navigation and expanded into Canada and previously into Europe. It established a headquarters in Chicago and forged API integration partnerships with TMS providers including SAP, Blue Yonder, BluJay, MercuryGate and Oracle. Recent product and partnership expansion aimed to drive enterprise adoption, though not all expansion succeeded—Uber sold its European business to sennder in an all-stock deal. Financially, the unit reported $211 million in revenue in Q2 2020 (up 27% year-over-year) but remained unprofitable, with an adjusted net loss of $49 million in the quarter. Uber plans to use new capital to continue scaling the logistics platform.
