Overview

Ubitus operates GPU server and cloud computing services, offering AI applications including UbiGPT, UbiONE (an avatar creation platform), and UbiArt (an image generation tool), alongside cloud gaming solutions for clients like Nintendo. The company partners with major cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and maintains a close alliance with NVIDIA for access to the latest GPU hardware and software. In collaboration with Foxlink it established Ubilink.AI Co., Ltd., ranked 31st in the Top 500 supercomputers globally and described as Asia’s largest green energy AI computing center. Ubitus is expanding its GPU data centers in Japan to support petabyte-scale workloads and to deploy NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs for model training and real-time inference. The firm is prioritizing energy-efficient facilities and is exploring a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to manage data center assets in response to Japan’s higher electricity rates and space constraints. Beyond infrastructure, Ubitus is extending into Robot-as-a-Service, integrating multimodal AI into robotics for industries such as healthcare and retail. Ubitus K.K. provides cloud gaming technology and solutions, enabling device-agnostic access to high-quality games via native apps and browsers and offering a Game Development Kit and game library for rapid deployment. The company specializes in GPU virtualization, operates one of Asia’s largest GPU farms, and runs a streaming platform and global cloud deployment resources for metaverse applications. Ubitus has broadened into generative AI, developing products such as UbiGPT (a gaming-centric LLM), UbiArt (image/video diffusion), Ubi-chan (AI avatar) and Ubi Anchor (AI anchor). It has collaborated with NVIDIA to build out GPU cloud infrastructure and to accelerate adoption of localized foundational models for customers in gaming, media, entertainment and retail. With NVIDIA’s support, Ubitus intends to further advance its AI and cloud-gaming solution offerings and scale creation, distribution, and consumption of AI-driven content across Asia and beyond. The company recently announced new investment funding from NVIDIA to support these initiatives. Ubitus provides commercial cloud gaming services and cloud computing solutions for device manufacturers, communication service providers, telecommunication operators and digital content developers. The company deploys services across the United States, Japan, South Korea and China (including Hong Kong) and maintains offices in those markets. Founded in 2007 and led by CEO Wesley Kuo, Ubitus has more than 200 employees. It raised over $15m in funding and plans to use the proceeds to build new gaming experiences with more instant and social features. Those features were expected to roll out in the third quarter of the year referenced in the article. Ubitus focuses on delivering scalable cloud gaming solutions to partners rather than direct consumer sales. Ubitus provides software platforms for multi-device content delivery and fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) applications, leveraging cloud computing to offer services to device manufacturers, wireless and wireline service providers, and telecommunication network operators. The company operates offices in Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul and Guangzhou and had about 80 employees at the time of the report. Ubitus focuses on enabling content delivery across devices and networks through its cloud-based platform. In conjunction with its recent financing, the company is establishing a joint committee to promote development and marketing with its investor. The financing also included placement of an NTT-affiliated part-time director on Ubitus's board, indicating closer strategic collaboration. Founded in 2007, Ubitus appears to be pursuing product and go-to-market expansion via partnership with its new investor.
