ugichem GmbH develops a proprietary antisense drug platform and a pipeline of antisense therapeutics addressing inflammatory indications, with a current focus on rheumatoid arthritis. Led by CEO Dr Holger Bock, the company is advancing preclinical Ugimer drug candidates for immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID). In May 2013 it raised €2.25m in financing to support its preclinical development. The funding comprised an €850k grant from Austria’s Research Promotion Agency FFG and €1.4m in equity from existing investors. The company intends to use the proceeds to advance its preclinical programs.
