Founded in 2019 by Vishal Vivek, Priyanka Chauhan, and Sandeep Kumar Tyagi, Ukhi is an IP-led biomaterials startup that converts agricultural residues and lignocellulosic biomass into high-performance, compostable packaging materials. Its flagship product line, EcoGran, is compatible with existing plastic‐processing infrastructure, allowing brands to swap petroleum-based plastics without sacrificing strength or functionality. Within six months, the company built a commercially viable biopolymer platform, secured proprietary material IP, and began market adoption across India’s packaging ecosystem. Ukhi has already sold more than 200,000 kilograms of its biopolymer to early customers, achieving over 90% trial-to-commercial conversion and generating commercial revenue soon after launch. Management plans to scale production rapidly and aims to displace up to 2.4 million kilograms of single-use plastic in the next 12 months. Fresh capital will deepen its formulation research and expand partnerships along the packaging value chain, positioning the firm to accelerate the transition toward a circular economy.
