UltraSense Systems, based in San Jose, Calif., builds ultrasonic user experiences and localized touch interfaces using 3D ultrasound. Led by founder and CEO Mo Maghsoudnia, the company offers the TouchPoint product line and a small ultrasound system-on-a-chip for buttonless touch interfaces. Its technology enables seamless interactions on surfaces including metal, glass, wood, ceramic and plastic across smartphones, consumer electronics, home appliances, automotive, IoT, industrial and medical markets. The company recently introduced what it called the world’s first ultrasound system-on-a-chip sensor that enables touch sensing through virtually any material of any thickness. UltraSense raised $20M in a Series B that brought its total fundraising to $24M and intends to use the funds to continue expanding operations and its business reach.
