Overview
Ultrawatt is a solar-technology company serving both residential and commercial customers with its patented PV2000 façade system. The PV2000 is a ventilated, aluminum-composite photovoltaic panel that converts ordinary walls into power-generating, thermally insulated surfaces while maintaining architectural aesthetics. Delivered as modular cassettes in 13 design shapes, the system installs quickly and costs about €300 per square meter, making it viable for the 70 % of industrial buildings whose roofs cannot support traditional panels. Pilot projects—an 8 kWc array in Aubière and a 13 kWc installation at Riot House in Clermont-Ferrand—have demonstrated 70–84 % self-consumption, substantially higher than typical roof-mounted systems, and improved wall energy coefficients by roughly 30 %. Production is industrialized and robotized to ensure scalable quality and competitive pricing. In November 2024 the firm raised €2 million, financing that will underpin continued growth in France and support planned expansion into the Americas and other markets.
