Ultromex Ltd develops processes for recovering high-value metals from electronic and industrial waste and works in partnership with global metal recycling and industrial businesses. The company aims to recover metals more efficiently while significantly lowering energy use and emissions. It is commercializing processes to recover metals from printed circuit boards and lead from leaded glass. An 8,000 tonne-per-annum plant is under construction in Ellesmere Port. Founded in 2011 by Jonathan Quinn and Harry Middleton and based in Birkenhead, Ultromex intends to use new funding to develop processes for recycling catalysts, industrial sludges and dross, and residual mine tailings.
