Overview

uMake offers what it bills as the industry’s first cloud-based mobile 3D sketching app, aimed at professional and avid amateur creators. The app lets users sketch or import sketches, trace an outline and a rotational axis, and uses algorithms to detect depth and spatial characteristics to generate 3D models. Projects can be shared for collaboration or exported to 3D printing platforms and graphics applications for further development. The app is free to download, with pro features available as in-app purchases at $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year. Planned updates will let users import logos and wrap images onto creations to bring projects closer to final products. uMake gained visibility after being featured in Apple’s keynote for the Pencil and iPad Pro and appearing as an App Store editor’s choice. The company is based in San Francisco and Israel and was co-founded by former Autodesk employees Evi Meyer and Erik Sapir.
