Umuse
Austin, Texas, United States
Overview
Umuse offers a personal communication platform that merges the power and flexibility of email with the speed and intimacy of chat into a single, Facebook-like prioritized message feed. The beta application integrates with existing services such as Gmail and Slack and lets users scan, zoom, reply inline with emojis and GIFs, and search across channels. Umuse developed an Inner Circle machine-learning technology that builds a personal communication graph to auto-open messages from important contacts and adapt over time. The company was founded by former Spiceworks founder and CEO Scott Abel in 2016 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. More than 5,000 users participated in early trials and provided feedback ahead of the public beta release. Umuse aims to reduce workplace message overload so users spend less time managing communication and more time communicating.
