Unavets is a Madrid-based veterinary healthcare group that operates 91 practices across Spain and Portugal, including reference/specialized centers, 24-hour hospitals, primary opinion clinics and vet offices. Led by CEO Junko Sheehan, the company guarantees a complete service offering and has expanded its growth strategy from Iberia to other European countries, the United States, and adjacent verticals synergistic with veterinary healthcare. Unavets raised €116M in financing in a round led by Ares Management Credit funds. The proceeds will be used primarily to refinance existing debt, with a significant majority reserved for future acquisitions and capital expenditures to acquire veterinary hospitals and clinics. The company also plans to continue acquisitions and investments in meaningful adjacencies. Unavets is currently majority owned by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management L.P.
