Underground Solutions (UGSI) sells infrastructure and process technologies across water, wastewater and electrical markets, with a core Fusible PVC® pipe business and a chemical feed and disinfection product line. The Fusible PVC® pipe business is growing profitably at 20–40% per year and is approaching 10,000 installations, and requires little capital to sustain that growth. UGSI has pursued acquisitive growth in the chemical feed and disinfection area, acquiring Siemens’ Wallace & Tiernan® chemical feed assets in 2012 and managing a successful turnaround in 2013. A portion of the recent financing proceeds was used to acquire Process Solutions, Inc. (PSI), which offers MicrOclor™ on-site hypochlorite generation and the Tank Shark™ mixing system. Management states the chemical feed and disinfection business would benefit from greater scale and a more comprehensive product line to build on its recent organic growth. The company is positioning to combine industry-leading technologies with customer service to expand in both industrial and municipal markets.
