Unikbase
320 rue Saint-Honoré, Paris, 75001, France
Overview
Unikbase offers a digital-twin tokenisation platform that creates digital passports for valuable objects by loading digital twin data into an NFT. Each token is designed to contain condition data, a 3D scan and prior-owner details, and the platform enforces a single Unikbase duplicate per object to prevent tampering. The product primarily targets insurers working with auction houses, second-hand antiques and other purveyors of high-value goods, and also addresses lifecycle services such as storage, transport, financing and resale. The company has 10 employees dispersed across Europe and Asia and applies a €2,000 upper limit on insurance policies eligible for its product. Unikbase closed a €2 million seed funding round led by Weber Investissements, with additional French and U.S. investors participating off‑record. It has announced a partnership with European insurer Coste Fermon to develop an "ultra-simplified insurance underwriting offering," with the contract due in April. The startup was started last year by a team with expertise in art and fashion retail, logistics, cybersecurity and blockchain, and said it will use investor expertise to accelerate integration, grow the team and develop its business model.
