Overview
UpCloud provides cloud servers and an in-house block storage service called MaxIOPS, which the company says is twice as fast as the industry standard. The company targets small-to-medium size tech firms running data-intensive applications and emphasizes high performance, redundancy, user-friendly storage, affordable pricing and strong customer support. UpCloud operates eight data centres including Amsterdam, Chicago, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London, San Jose and Singapore. The company reports consistently strong customer experience with an NPS around 60. Founded in 2011, UpCloud plans to recruit over 100 employees in the next two years and to launch more than 10 new data centres across Europe, Asia and North America, and expand into markets such as Australia. The recent financing will be used to rapidly grow its team and expand its cloud computing services. UpCloud is a Helsinki-based cloud computing company that provides high-performance cloud infrastructure. It operates data centres in Helsinki, London, Frankfurt, and Chicago. Company leadership emphasizes R&D and proprietary technology to address performance shortcomings in cloud computing. UpCloud was recognised for having the highest performance in the infrastructure space by CloudSpectator earlier this year. The company positions itself as the “defacto global European alternative in the high-performance cloud space.” It raised €4 million to accelerate international expansion and open new offices and data centres.
