Uprising offers clean-ingredient superfood bakery products made without grains, denatured oils or preservatives, formulated to be keto- and paleo-friendly and high in fiber and protein. The company operates a subscription delivery service and sells direct-to-consumer through its website. Uprising was founded in March 2019 by William Schumacher, Kate Schumacher and Blue Oven Bakery founders Mark and Sara Frommeyer. It recently closed a $1.25M funding round and used the raise to support product development and distribution. The company has launched a new Superfood Chips line in Sea Salt and Savory Rye, baked with almonds, flaxseed, egg whites, apple cider vinegar, MCT oil and olive oil. Beginning January 1, the chips will be available in 35 select Meijer supercenter locations throughout Michigan, expanding beyond direct online sales.
