Urban Energy
315 Meserole St, B8b, Brooklyn, NY, 11206, United States
Overview
Founded in July 2017, Urban Energy develops, engineers, procures and constructs rooftop community solar projects tailored to dense urban environments. The company targets small-commercial, cooperative and condominium buildings, enabling owners to participate in clean energy without upfront investment. Its product suite includes an advanced solar canopy designed to unlock previously unusable multifamily rooftops. Urban Energy currently controls a 6.5 MW pipeline of contracted projects across Con Edison territory in New York City and Westchester, spanning more than 80 multifamily and small-commercial buildings. Over half of these projects will employ the firm’s solar canopy, and nearly all serve low- and moderate-income or public-housing residents. The company has experienced rapid growth by focusing on historically underserved urban markets and plans to use newly secured development capital to accelerate construction and acquisition of additional community-solar assets.
