URO-1’s core product is the patented SUREcore needle (U.S. Patent #11,903,569) and the coreCARE specimen retrieval kit, designed to obtain larger, more consistent and higher-quality biopsy cores. The company has focused initial commercialization on prostate biopsies and plans to expand into other areas of cancer diagnostics. URO-1 completed clinical validation over the past two years and received FDA clearance for SUREcore and coreCARE. The company intends to launch the SUREcore and coreCARE suite at the American Urological Association conference in early May and begin volume production this year. URO-1 was founded in 2017 and has been preparing to raise additional capital and build a production facility in Greensboro to support full-scale manufacturing.
