U.S. Well Services is a newly formed pressure pumping company based in Houston that will operate in the Marcellus and Utica trends in the Northeast United States. Its core service is hydraulic fracturing pressure pumping for oil and gas operations in those shale plays. Layton Corporation has agreed to provide financing in excess of $100 million to back the company, contingent on the company meeting certain performance milestones. Layton will also supply operational and managerial support to U.S. Well Services. According to Layton, the management team assembled has decades of pressure-pumping experience and regional knowledge. The backer and management expect the company to become a leader in the Northeast and to contribute to U.S. energy independence.
