V.Biotech

No. 7/101, Kvrn Pudur, Ugayanur Po, Palladam Tk, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, India

Overview

Founded roughly five years ago and headquartered in Reims, V.Biotech specializes in transforming coffee grounds into bio-sourced molecules, powders and oils that serve as sustainable alternatives for the cosmetics, plastics, nutraceutical and chemical-colorant industries. While coffee grounds are its current feedstock, the company is actively researching additional organic co-products such as grape, apple and orange residues. V.Biotech plans to relocate at the end of 2026 to a 1,200 m² facility—of which 800 m² will be laboratories—previously occupied by AstraZeneca, enabling expansion of its R&D capabilities and acquisition of new equipment. Half of the lab space will be offered to other scale-up biotech startups via an open call for projects in early 2026. The firm has secured a supply agreement with Veolia for 10,000 tonnes of coffee grounds and contracts local partner Luzéal for drying. Looking ahead, it intends to build a production demonstrator in Vierzon by late 2027 to benefit from central logistics links including a nearby dry port connected to Le Havre. Until the upcoming Series A, operations have been financed through founders’ capital, regional private investors and bank loans; no revenue figures are disclosed.
