Vahanalytics develops a platform that captures real-time driving and road-condition data via smartphones and applies big-data analytics to extract actionable insights. The startup aims to make Indian roads safer by analysing driving behaviour and suggesting measures for improvement. Its analytical tool is positioned for multiple use cases across transportation, logistics and insurance industries. Vahanalytics is run by Urbtranz Technologies Pvt. Ltd and was founded in early 2016 by BITS Pilani alumni Shivalik Sen, Arun Gandhi, Nikhil Tavora and Someshwar Dash. The founders previously operated on-demand driver service Driven, which they sold to DriversKart, and are using those learnings in the new venture. The Mumbai-based company raised $200,000 in seed funding from Venture Catalysts.
