Valenture Institute operates hybrid, tech-enabled boutique high-school campuses that combine online learning, in-person guidance by Learning Coaches, and social time with peers. Founded in January 2019 by Robert Paddock (co-founder of Getsmarter), the school offers a curriculum recognised by a number of the world’s leading universities. The company currently has three South African boutique campuses opening in January 2021 in Joburg’s Dunkeld and Cape Town’s Newlands and Constantia. Valenture secured a $7-million investment from GSV Ventures to support global expansion, enhance the learning experience, and build additional offerings including coding, design thinking, and data science bootcamps. The funding will also be used to resource the roll-out of its hybrid, tech-enabled physical campuses and related physical-space features. Valenture is planning international campuses in London, Boston, and New York and aims to be the most impactful school by 2028.
