4s3 Bioscience is a Boston-area biotherapeutics company developing genetic disease therapies targeting orphan neuromuscular disorders. Its core technology is a proprietary antibody platform that enables targeted, active intracellular delivery of proteins, enzymes and other macromolecules to skeletal muscle. The platform is intended to replace deficient proteins in skeletal muscle and could address muscular dystrophies, myopathies, motor neuron diseases, neuromuscular junction disorders and various enzyme deficiency disorders. The company intends to use the capital from its recent financing to continue development of this delivery technology. KLP’s subsidiary, Alopexx Enterprises, will work with 4s3 to build and manage the company. 4s3 was founded in 2007 and previously received seed funding from Genzyme Ventures in 2008.
