Value.Space develops satellite-based monitoring technology that detects millimetre-scale anomalies in large infrastructure objects to assess structural health and insurance risk. Its tool is positioned for loss prevention and pricing for assets such as dams, mines and large commercial property, with space-borne monitoring intended to speed up risk assessment. The company completed an oversubscribed second close of its seed round, raising €2.1 million to accelerate growth. Management says the funding will help capture market share and expand the product offering into other segments of the finance industry. Founder Reijo Pold serves as Chief Strategy Officer and has framed the product as a way to quantify risks and opportunities that insurers must manage in the face of large economic losses from natural catastrophes. Specialist VC described the approach as having potential to transform profiling and maintenance of critical infrastructure and to increase public safety.
