VanDyne SuperTurbo designs, develops, and commercializes the SuperTurbo, a device that integrates supercharging and turbocharging into a single unit and enables turbocompounding to recover waste heat energy. The company says the SuperTurbo can increase efficiency of internal combustion engines and currently targets 8 to 15 liter diesel engines for the on-highway truck market. Through an expansion to a new facility in 2013, VanDyne enhanced internal testing equipment, including a heavy-duty engine dynamometer, and has tested the SuperTurbo on a 2013 15-liter diesel engine. Testing demonstrated direct efficiency gains that the company says will deliver a one-year payback to the truck owner. Proceeds from its recent financing are being invested into the final phase of commercialization ahead of a high-volume production launch with leading heavy-duty engine OEMs. The company is headquartered in Loveland, Colorado and focuses on offering a cost-effective solution to meet fuel efficiency regulations and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
