VAULT created a mobile-friendly Digital Music Collectible (DMC) format that offers authenticated, instantly unlockable digital box sets and rich-media experiences playable on phones. The company was created by the co-founders of FanDuel and is led by CEO Nigel Eccles. VAULT plans to scale the DMC format to more artists globally and to launch the open, fully decentralized VAULT protocol so DMCs can be purchased, played, moved, traded, or resold across third-party apps and websites. Artists including FLETCHER, Naïka, and SUM SUN have released DMCs, and independent artists are adopting the format attracted by favorable revenue splits and the ability to self-monetize. During FLETCHER’s U.S. tour fans purchased over 3,000 DMCs at $4.99 each, demonstrating early consumer demand. The company announced a $4M Series A that brings total funding to $13M and will be used to scale the format and accelerate the protocol rollout.
