Overview
vChain builds immutable and tamper-evident database solutions to restore trust and integrity in digital applications, centering on its immudb immutable ledger database and the CodeNotary Ledger Compliance® offering. immudb was released to the public earlier this year under the Apache v2.0 license. CodeNotary Ledger Compliance® enables organizations to track and permanently record changes to sensitive core-application data (for example, bank or credit card transactions) with cryptographic verification. The company employs a distributed team across more than 10 countries with expertise in cryptography, distributed ledger technologies, immutable databases, and certificate management. vChain plans to use the new funding to expand sales operations in the U.S. and Europe and to continue development of both CodeNotary Ledger Compliance® and the Open Source immudb database. The company was founded in late 2018 by CEO Moshe Bar and CTO Dennis Zimmer. vChain created CodeNotary, an open-source code trust solution designed to ensure only trusted code and data run in production and to secure CI/CD pipelines across organizations and contributors. The tool integrates with multiple platforms and supports languages including JavaScript, Python, Go, and Java. The company says CodeNotary processes over 9 million code and container authentications every month. vChain was co-founded by CEO Moshe Bar (who previously founded XenSource and Qumranet) and CTO Dennis Zimmer in late 2018 and released its first product in April of last year. The company is headquartered in Houston with a secondary office in Amsterdam. The recent funding will be used to continue development as the DevOps market grows.
