Overview
Vecmocon, founded in 2016 at IIT Delhi, builds vehicle intelligence solutions for the EV market, including BMS, vehicle intelligence modules (VIM), and chargers. Its technology currently powers over 70,000 vehicles in India and it serves clients such as Exide, BGauss, and Battery Smart. The company employs over 180 associates and plans to expand its team to support R&D and product development. With the new capital, Vecmocon intends to advance R&D in high-voltage systems and energy storage systems (ESS), develop Zonal ECU‑compliant architectures, and push 5G automotive connectivity solutions. It is also targeting market expansion into Southeast Asia and Africa and diversifying across two‑wheelers, three‑wheelers, LCVs, and buses. The funding is positioned to accelerate product development, market reach, and the company’s push to supply OEMs and ecosystem players. Vecmocon develops core EV components and accompanying software platforms, including BMS, vehicle intelligence modules, instrument clusters and chargers, plus cloud integration for remote diagnostics. The New Delhi–based startup targets light EV OEMs producing two‑wheelers, three‑wheelers, forklifts and electric tractors, while its solutions are also ready for four‑wheelers. Vecmocon says its BMS complies with India’s AIS‑156 safety recommendations and emphasizes safety and reliability. The company reports about $5 million in orders to execute, giving it touchpoints with roughly 30,000–40,000 vehicles, and plans to power more than 100,000 vehicles next year and 500,000 by 2025. The team currently includes about 20 engineers working from labs at IIT Delhi; Vecmocon plans to hire sales, HR, operations and finance staff and build in‑house testing labs. It has begun pilot work with customers in the U.S., Sri Lanka and Malaysia as part of its initial international expansion.
