Velada is a Madrid-based next‑gen restaurant guide and booking app curated by food critics and local tastemakers. The product pairs curated recommendations with a proprietary algorithm that uses user preferences and behavior to deliver personalized suggestions. Founded in 2021 by Alexandra Papadopoulos and David Martin Suarez (now CPO), the app currently lists over 1,000 restaurant recommendations and has reached 100k downloads. Velada has attracted attention from chefs and food experts, including advisor Borja Beneyto, and was selected as one of the top ten entrepreneurs by Culinary Action (Basque Culinary Center) in 2021. The company plans to expand to more cities, partner with brands and restaurants, and introduce premium subscriptions offering concierge services and invitations to exclusive events. Velada has secured new funding to support that expansion.
