Velocity Mobile Ltd. is a London- and New York-based provider of an international digital hospitality platform that connects premier restaurants with affluent diners, enabling customers to settle bills from their phones and participate in tailored status and rewards programs. The company operates a venue network of hundreds of iconic restaurants and hospitality groups across London, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles, collectively representing 21 Michelin stars and venues such as Carbone, Daniel, Cosme, The Slanted Door and Gymkhana. Velocity closed a $16M Series A and is pursuing strategic acquisitions to accelerate its global expansion in premier hospitality cities. It acquired Cover Inc., a mobile payments app accepted at over 350 restaurants in NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and will invest in Cover’s mobile apps and payment infrastructure while integrating Cover employees into its team. Venues can either retain Cover’s stand‑alone iPad solution or upgrade to Velocity’s fully integrated payment and loyalty platform with POS integration, a venue dashboard and CRM tools. Leadership changes from the acquisition include appointing Cover co‑founder Mark Egerman as Executive Vice President, Payments, and adding Andrew Cove to the advisory board.
