Overview

Trucode Gene Repair is advancing a proprietary triplex gene-editing technology that uses synthetic peptide nucleic acid (PNA) oligomers and DNA correction sequences to harness natural, high-fidelity DNA repair without creating double-stranded breaks or relying on viral vectors. The platform has demonstrated disease reversal in multiple animal models, including beta-thalassemia and cystic fibrosis, with intravenous nanoparticle delivery achieving durable genetic correction. Initial clinical targets include sickle cell disease and cystic fibrosis, and the company holds exclusive worldwide rights to core intellectual property licensed from Yale University and additional rights from Carnegie Mellon University. Trucode has built a leadership team of industry veterans led by founder and CEO Dr. Marshall Fordyce, formerly of Gilead Sciences, and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Allen Ebens, formerly of Genentech, Juno, and NGM. Board members include Beth Seidenberg (Kleiner Perkins), Krishna Yeshwant (GV), Andrew Cheng (Akero Therapeutics), and Joseph Walton (Walton, Mitchell & Co.). Backed by $34 million in venture financing, the company is now emerging from stealth to progress multiple preclinical programs toward the clinic and scale manufacturing of its nanoparticle-based therapeutics.
