Overview
Veracode provides a comprehensive software security platform that helps development and security teams find and fix vulnerabilities while enabling secure software delivery at scale. The platform emphasizes process automation, integrations, reporting and analytics to give customers a consolidated software security posture. Veracode customers have scanned over 53 trillion lines of code and fixed more than 71 million security flaws, and the company serves more than 2,600 customers with nearly two‑thirds of revenue from large enterprise companies. The business reports sustained growth that has outpaced forecasts for application security spending. Veracode plans to expand its product portfolio through organic development and strategic M&A, accelerate its global footprint and continue hiring across engineering, product, marketing, sales, and customer success. The company employs more than 725 people worldwide and supports remote and hybrid work models. Veracode offers a cloud-based application security platform that identifies critical application-layer threats before attackers can exploit them. The platform centralizes policies and KPIs to systematically reduce risk and measure progress across disparate business units, development teams, third-party suppliers, outsourcers and open-source developers. It continuously learns from accumulated data, based on hundreds of billions of equivalent lines of code scanned, to address evolving threats. Veracode currently secures hundreds of large global enterprises, including three of the top four banks in the Fortune 100 and more than 25 of the world’s top 100 brands. The company is led by CEO Bob Brennan and CFO Ed Goldfinger. Veracode plans to accelerate investments in sales, marketing and R&D and may pursue acquisitions of complementary technologies and a potential IPO. Veracode provides cloud-based application intelligence and security verification services through a platform that combines patented static, dynamic and manual testing, eLearning, and advanced application analytics. Its suite addresses internally developed, purchased or outsourced applications and third-party components to enable scalable, policy-driven application risk management. The company plans continued growth of its application security-as-a-service platform, geographic expansion, and investments in security research to identify Zero Day vulnerabilities. Veracode secured $30m in additional funding and intends to use the capital to hire across engineering, operations, sales, customer service and marketing, with plans to double the workforce by December 2012. It has been recruiting globally and added 47 new hires in the first quarter, including key executive additions. Veracode works with customers in more than 80 countries, including Global 2000 brands. Veracode provides a cloud-based application risk management services platform. The company said it will use new funding to expand sales and marketing efforts and production capacity, according to CEO Matt Moynahan. It secured $12M in expansion capital in the reported round. Investors in the financing include StarVest Partners (lead) and existing backers Atlas Venture and .406 Ventures. Veracode reported that revenues grew almost 300% from 2008 to 2009. The company is based in Burlington, MA.
