Veranu is advancing a smart floor composed of recyclable PET tiles that generate electricity when people walk on them. The technology is designed for installation in any type of floor and targets public spaces such as airports, train stations and offices. The company says the PET construction eliminates CO2 emissions and can reduce production costs for public and private organizations. Veranu raised €184k via an equity crowdfunding campaign on Equinvest and intends to use the funds to optimize the technology and extend its IP internationally. The team is led by CEO Alessio Calcagni, COO Simone Mastrogiacomo and CTO Giorgio Leoni. Veranu is accelerated within Clhub, a Cagliari-based venture incubator focused on cleantech, Agtech, IoT and digital sectors.
