Overview

Veritas pairs custom hardware with a software suite to make luxury products virtually impossible to counterfeit. Its gem-sized NFC chip, engineered with a proprietary coil and bridge structure, is embedded in finished goods and goes dormant if tampered with, while digital certificates on the backend verify authenticity when a buyer taps a phone. The platform also creates a blockchain-based digital clone of each item and offers brands a dashboard to monitor scan behavior, manage product data, and run community-engagement campaigns such as exclusive invites or early-access drops. Founder Luci Holland, a former Tesla technical product manager and mixed-media artist, designed the solution after maisons reported they could no longer reliably spot “superfakes.” Veritas positions its technology as far more secure than off-the-shelf NFC tags vulnerable to tools like Flipper Zero. Although still educating the market on the need for robust tech, the company has secured initial brand pilots. It has raised $1.75 million in pre-seed funding and plans to use the capital to grow beyond its current two-person team.
